One sunny weekend back in July I helped Amy and Simon style parts of their wedding at one of my favourite venues, Hengrave Hall in Bury St Edmunds. I plan to dedicate another post of their wedding pics in the coming weeks, but thought I would share my main event – their Sweet Table!
We had decided on ice cream colours, pale pinks, pale yellow and creams. It is quite a challenge deciding what to have! Once we had decided on the sweets, I set about planning other touches for the display such as vintage books, little suitcases, small boxes and a set of shelves. I painted both the shelves and picture frame in Dayroom Yellow by Farrow & Ball. I loved the small pom poms I ordered from Juliet at Paper Poms. Flowers appeared on the day by Violets & Velvet her arrangements for the wedding were stunning.
The labels were designed by Dottie Creations, a company run by Zoe and Mandy who also run Dottie Photography Mandy photographed the wedding this time (and took these pics!). They blog about their stunning work over at Truly Madly Dottie Their blog is rather spectacular.
I chose all glassware to give the table a more delicate, rather than rustic look. I often use scales, tins and other objects but I wanted this table to look really pretty. Wait until you see Amy!
Guests were asked to ‘help themselves’ to the bons bons, marshmallows, rhubarb and custards, flying saucers, milk shakes, ice cream cones and of course love hearts.
Amy sent me a really lovely message the very next day …..
….. it was an absolute pleasure Amy.
